Newbie Question
« on: February 26, 2019, 08:30:20 PM »
First, thank you for such a powerful tool.

I must have missed this in the documentation... On the command line or in a windows batch file I begin the instruction with "exiftool "

I have looked high and low for the proper order of all that can follow the magic word but it's as if the tool will digest just about anything I feed it.

Are there rules of syntax? I've used examples from the site to do most of what I want to do but to blaze my own trail I need to know the rules of the road.

Thanks

Phil Harvey

The order of most options does not matter, except for the order of operations when writing tags.  FAQ 22 deals with this.  There are a few other exceptions mentioned in the documentation.
